Depending on the circumstances, fees may be charged on an hourly basis, as a fixed fee, or on a retainer basis for recurring needs.
An initial discussion, at no cost and without commitment, allows the issues at stake to be understood and the most appropriate billing arrangement to be determined. Following that discussion, a proposed scope of work and a fee estimate are provided before any engagement begins.
A fee agreement is systematically put in place, setting out clearly the scope of the engagement, the billing arrangements and the payment terms. No work is undertaken without the client's prior agreement.
Quotes are drafted clearly, so as to give visibility on costs and allow the matter to be understood as a whole. Any work not initially provided for is notified in advance and requires the client's agreement.
Fees do not include costs and disbursements (official fees, bailiff and expert fees and translation costs) nor, where applicable, the fees of external counsel or other professionals, which are notified in advance.
